Whether it’s to talk to the Women in Business group for the Little Heroes Foundation or the Annual Conference of BETA SA (Business and Enterprise Teacher’s Association of SA), it’s not uncommon for our director, Mary, to be asked to speak at events. However, it’s the events where she gets to inspire young Australians that are truly fulfilling, as she was lucky enough to experience this week when she spoke to the Year 9 STEM students at Marymount College.
Almost a year ago Marymount reached out to us to ask if Mary would be interested in coming out to the school and giving a talk, the answer was an immediate ‘yes!’ and the date was penciled in. Fast forward to Friday morning and we set off with our bag of goodies. Mary spoke to the girls about her story; how she got into hair care, how she’s worked her way up, how she maintains a healthy work life balance and how the Davroe team works hard to keep expanding their reach.
The staff and students asked questions about the products, their formulations and the difficulties Davroe faced when they made the move to be 100% vegan, sulphate free, petrochemical free and paraben free. Mary loved interacting with some of the young minds in South Australia’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics program, and is looking forward to seeing their progress over the coming months.
