As we say goodbye to 2017, and prepare to bring in the New Year, we thought this would be a great time to look back at our 2017 Davroe journey.
Fashion Palette Sydney was held at The Art Gallery of NSW; with our team of 10 Stylists, Team Davroe headed to Sydney, where 11 Australian designers presented their Spring/Summer 2018 collection. This marked the first SS18 showing to hit Sydney in 2017.
During May, the Little Heroes Foundation hosted their Mother’s Day Luncheon at the National Wine Centre, and our very own Director, Mary, was a guest speaker. Our National Sales Manager, Andrew had been growing his hair and beard to raise money for the foundation, he finally had it shaved off on the day by Ant from Botanic Hair. With some amazing support from some of our clients, we raised just over $4,000.00.
Mary got a chance to do her part in inspiring young Australians in June, when she was asked to speak to Year 9 STEM students at Marymount College. It’s events like these, where she gets to inspire those around her, that are truly fulfilling.
Davroe teamed up with International Stylist to the stars, Ricardo Ferrise. Ricardo is known across Hollywood for his revolutionary talents in both hair and makeup, named Viva Glam’s 2013 Artist of the Year. We have been lucky enough to work with Ricardo this year and have some amazing work coming in the New Year!
Our director, Mary, was nominated for Telstra Business Woman of the Year. And while she didn’t win, Mary will always be our Woman of the Year! Congratulations on your nomination, Mary.
Little Heroes Slowdown, Davroe was proud sponsor of the Slowdown All Stars, coached by Graham Cornes and led by Captain, Tony Modra. The slowdown saw the SANFL Legends face off against the Slowdown All Stars at Norwood Oval.
Davroe was a proud sponsor of Hair & Beauty SA’s 2017 State Competition, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, with over 17 categories, Davroe sponsored the Open Runway/Catwalk Hair Fashion Spring/Summer 17/18 category.
Fashion Palette New York, was held at Pier 59. While there were a few hiccups along the way, where we had our Creative Director bailed down in Miami due to a natural disaster, we were lucky enough to have an amazing team step up and ensure that everything ran smoothly backstage for the 8 Australian designers who showcased their designs.
Salon International hair expo in London; Davroe got the chance to showcase our Natural, Vegan and proudly Australian made products to the European markets.
We have so much love for the Little Heroes Foundation luncheon, an event they host to fundraise for their foundation. All their events are aimed at raising much needed funds to help children and their families suffering from Cancer and other serious illness.
The Davroe team helped showcase the SA designer Couture Love Madness on the runway at the luncheon.
We finished the year bowling with 1808, a bowling team that Dresslier has sponsored since 1961. That’s 56 years of support for a team that has gone out onto the bowling lanes every week for 56 years, now that is sportsmanship. What an honour it was for our Davroe family to meet Brian (one of the original team members) and his team mates.
So whilst we can say that we have had an amazing year, we would like to thank you all for coming along on this journey with us. We have some exciting news for you in the New Year and we can’t wait to share more wonderful experiences with our Davroe Family.
Wishing you all the best for 2018!
Warm Regards,
The Davroe Team
