The 16th annual black-tie G’Day USA Gala took place on 26 January 2019, and featured a star-studded celebrity red carpet.
On the evening the attendees celebrated several high-profile Australians who were honoured for their contribution to strengthening the US-Australia relationship.
Legendary Australian singer Helen Reddy was honored with a G’Day USA Lifetime Achievement award. Best known for her signature hit I Am Woman, Reddy became a global pop icon and pioneer of the women’s movement.
Acclaimed Australian actor Liam Hemsworth was honored with a G’Day USA Excellence in Film award in recognition of outstanding performances in films including The Hunger Games and Independence Day: Resurgence.
Production Designer Deborah Riley was honored with a G’Day USA Outstanding Achievement in Film and Television award. The four-time Emmy Award winner is a recognized industry leader, whose work in set design and art direction has helped bring the worlds of The Matrix, Moulin Rouge and Game of Thrones to life.
It was such an honour for us to witness all the talented Australians that receive these highly recognisable awards.
However the real highlight for us was when Ricardo Ferrise and the Davroe team were able transform the hair and makeup of some of the distinguished celebrity guests back stage before the Gala commenced.
Celebrations were definitely well underway before the red carpet rolled out, with stars scheduled in for their hair and makeup from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, for the first block of guests, which included: Veronique Serret, Melinda Schneider, Odette, Wé McDonald.
While the second block of guests were scheduled in from 3:00pm- 5:00pm and consisted of: Traci Donat, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Nayanna Holley, Anja Nissen, Mimi Gramatky and the lovely Isla Fisher.
The Davroe creative team created tailored looks around what the guests were wearing and made sure they looked fantastic with their the red carpet ready look.
From curls to waves and everything in between, the Davroe team were channeling a high-end ultra-glamorous vibe with many guests opting for big bouncy curls, while the makeup was minimal, soft and luxurious.
Mary Centofanti the director of Davroe Said:
“It was such a proud moment for our Davroe family; we were so happy that we were able to promote Davroe and all things Australian at this extraordinary event”
It was an amazing evening to be around so many fellow Australians in Los Angeles celebrating Australia Day with our 100% Australian made Davroe Haircare.
