Mary our Director at Dresslier this week celebrated 36 years with the company.
From her humble start with the company as a receptionist to director of our Australian hair care company her journey has brought her a long way.
While we were celebrating with Mary this week, we thought we would ask her to update us with her current Davroe hair care routine at home.
We all know that Ends Repair Leave & Luxe Leave in treatments are amongst Mary’s favourite Davroe products, but what is she using in her bathroom at the moment!
Mary: My Davroe routine is pretty standard for me, however as I test every product that we release in our range and try different combinations of products, I am always mixing it up.
I love this part of my role as I get to trial all the amazing products that we have in our range. I am so excited about some of the new products that I am currently trialling that I just want to tell everyone about them.. But I can’t, but it won’t be too long until we will be announcing these new products and I know that our Salons and Customers out there are going to LOVE them as much as I do!
So what products did you use in the shower this morning?
Mary: I started with Repair Senses Shampoo, followed this with Rebuilder Protein Treatment, I can’t emphasise enough how great this product is, such an intense protein hair reconstructor which restores body, shine and elasticity to damaged hair. Our formula is highly concentrated that rebuilds the driest, brittle and damaged hair. I recommend anyone who hasn’t tried it to give it a go. I then applied MCT our latest treatment, it is so luxurios to apply to the hair, it feels and smells amazing. Once I had rinsed that out I applied Repair Senses Conditioner. I do alternate my treatments, so the next time I jump in the shower I will use Replenish, which is a protein and moisture rich treatment, although at the moment I have been trialling one of our new products, which we are looking to launch in September, it is such an amazing product, the results we are seeing with our testing is just fantastic and I can’t wait for our customers to start using this.
Okay, so what are you using in your styling routine at the moment?
Mary: It really depends on what look I am trying to achieve, but today I wanted a smooth, blow out. I always start with Thermaprotect, you need to start with a good base, then I applied Smoothing Balm and Formation, I used a round brush to blow dry my hair smooth. Then I finished my look with Ends Repair. Although sometimes I like to have a bit of volume so that’s when I will apply a bit of BVT (Body Volume Texture) at my roots and Murray River Salt Spray these products just give my roots the lift that I am looking for. However, when I’m going out, although who says you can’t look good in your lounge room at the moment! I will finish with Cloud, the ultimate texture and volume powder! Oh but I have been trialling another one of our new products, I really can’t say too much, but I will tell you that I have been embracing a different look lately, you will have to stay tuned for more details on this one.
With so much happening in the world at the moment, how has 2020 been for Davroe?
Mary: This year is 90 years since our parent company Dresslier started and although we had a lot of things planned to commemorate this amazing achievement, I mean to have an Australian Made and Owned company manufacturing hair care products for 90 years is such a wonderful achievement, we wanted to celebrate this milestone with all our salons, our distributors and our customers. But with everything that has been happening, we have had to postpone these events, however we are looking forward to 2021 and we have so many great things planned to celebrate our 90 years, we will keep everyone updated.
In the meantime it has been wonderful to see our salons re-opening, our industry is full of such amazing talent and to see so many of our salons and stylists out there struggling has been terrible, but we are a resilient group and I know they will all bounce back, goodness knows they will be busy over the next few months fitting all their clients back in who have been waiting patiently to jump back in that salon chair.
While things have been different, we still managed to keep on track and stay on target with launching Davroe overseas and growing our exports, our lab and manufacturing facilities have grown and we have such an amazing team of staff that have been busy making sure our products were still being made, our orders still going out and our overseas orders leaving our warehouse.
Since the launch of our new packaging In September we are now exporting into 6 countries with a another 6 scheduled in the coming months , it’s such an amazing feeling to see our Australian Made product on the shelves overseas.
I personally would like to thank all our Salons, Distributors and Customers for all their support and love of the brand, the last 36 years have been exciting, but I am looking forward to bringing all our loyal supporters so much more from Davroe
