A CUT ABOVE Young hair professional makes the finals of national hairdressing awards
Young, ambitious, and ready to make their mark, theyβre the future of the UK and Irelandβs Β£6.3 billion-a-year hairdressing industry* β and theyβve just been named as finalists on the It List 2022, the national awards competition celebrating hairdressingβs most exciting talents aged 30 and under.
DAVROE Ambassador Jordan Robertson, based in London is one of five finalists in The Editorial Stylist category, having impressed a stellar judging panel with his action packed entry.
Presented by leading industry magazine Creative HEAD and exclusively sponsored by hairdressing mega-brand ghd, the It List catapults Britain and Irelandβs most exciting new hair talents into the spotlight: the young business-builders, style-makers, hard grafters, and game-changers whoβve been setting the barbering, session styling and salon spheres on fire.
With six coveted titles up for grabs, it fell to an expert panel of judges β leading names from the worlds of hair, fashion, business and media β to read through the hundreds of entries received and determine the names on the 2022 It List. Influential figures including award-winning make-up artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis; photographers Conor Clinch and Lewis Hayward; talent agents Helen Lisle-Taylor and Lindsay Cruickshank; leading salon owners Nicola Clarke, Andrew Cannon, and Ky Wilson; and session stars Bjorn Krischker, Sharon Robinson and Aaron Carlo alongside dozens more all gave up their time to judge.
At stake: highly prized It List trophies, exclusive gifts and experiences from ghd, and a platform like no other to boost profile. Past winners have gone on to work on Fashion Week teams in London, New York, Paris and Milan, get slots on prime-time TV, present at industry events and even launch their own brands. A place on the It List can be career changing.
To discover their fate, Jordan will now join their fellow finalists at the It List Grand Final, the most hotly anticipated event in the hairdressing calendar, taking place on Monday 5 September at Londonβs iconic Tate Modern, the most-visited art gallery in the world. The Grand Final brings together an all-star guest list of more than 700 names to watch an inspirational hair presentation and celebrate the crowning of the 2022 It List champions.
